Today at the Haddon Heights Campus in 205 we solved some egg matching math, created watercolor egg art, made predictions on how many eggs we could stack together, and designed some egg ornaments! The room really got into the spirit of Spring!

At the Haddon Heights campus, students in 204 used a TDS tester to test the "total dissolved solids" in a variety of popular water bottles. This is one of the many methods used to determine the safety of drinking water.

The kids from the Elementary School (Ms. Kelly's class) really enjoyed learning outside of the classroom and meeting our "adopted cow", Harper through the Adopt a cow program that works with local dairy farms. https://www.discoverdairy.com/adopt-a-cow/ We were privileged to visit Myerwood Farm where the students were able to see where the cows live and how they are cared for from infants to adults. Farmer Melanie took us on a tour and explained each area of their farm including the hospital barn, how often they milk the cows, how large they can be, as well as how much milk each cow can produce in a day - 11 gallons! We were able to see the various pens and barns where they live and learned how long they stay in each area - they start in individual pens, then move to a bigger barn where they learn to socialize (she told us it is just like elementary school), then off to the field and the milking barns. The kids even got to pet a couple of calves who were only about a week old. The students have been following Harper's growth journey since the fall, so it was such a treat to see her in person!

Room 104 at the Haddon Heights Campus has spent the past few weeks studying the different parts of the body and how they work together. One of our favorite activities was exploring how our lungs function. Using simple materials like tape, zip-lock bags, and straws, we created a model to demonstrate how air moves in and out of the lungs.

We are very proud of the work put into organizing this PD day and Im proud of Ms.Trish and Ms. MaryLynn for being staff leaders 😊. Ms. Trish is running a station to help BEST teaching staff answer and learn more about the ACE Curriculum as we continue to progress with it; and Ms. MaryLynn is running a station with all other Teachers to model more thorough lesson planning, better use of curriculum, and differentiating for our students better. Everyone else is doing a Handle with Care refresher with Ms. Shannan. 😊
